Four Ds to Consider Before Entering a Relationship

 

Renowned journalist, broadcaster, and relationship coach, Eleonor Effe Amanor, popularly known as Mama Effe, has highlighted the “Four Ds” that individuals should consider when entering into a relationship.

She made these remarks during an interaction with students of OTEC as part of their SRC Week celebrations.

According to Mama Effe, building a successful relationship requires adherence to four key principles, which she described as the “Four Ds.”

She explained that the first D stands for Decision. She noted that the decision one makes should guide every aspect of the relationship. This includes how ready a person is to stay committed to their partner, especially as students, regardless of the challenges that may arise.

The second D, she said, is Desire. This refers to the willingness and passion to sustain the relationship, even in the face of obstacles. According to her, a strong desire helps partners persevere and remain committed.

Mama Effe identified the third D as Determination. She emphasized that individuals must be determined to remain strong in their relationships and committed to their partners, no matter the circumstances, in order to build a lasting bond.


The final D, she explained, is Discipline. She noted that discipline is essential in all aspects of life, including relationships. Individuals must exercise self-control and responsibility to maintain a healthy and stable relationship.

Mrs. Eleonor Effe Amanor concluded that anyone seeking to enter into a relationship should understand and apply these Four Ds—Decision, Desire, Determination, and Discipline—as they are key to building a successful and enduring relationship.
