Afua Kobi Ampem Girls SHS Marks 50th Anniversary ‎

 ‎Afua Kobi Ampem Girls Senior High School has celebrated its 50th anniversary in grand style on 15th November 2025 in the Ashanti Region.

‎The colourful event brought together several dignitaries, including Otumfuo Hiahene Nana Agyei Owoahene Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, old students, current students, and media personnel.

‎Addressing the gathering, Otumfuo Hiahene Nana Agyei Owoahene Boakye praised the school’s management for their dedication and the genuine spirit of excellence that continues to define Afua Kobi Ampem SHS.

He encouraged the school to further strengthen its vision, stressing that the next generation of women must be equipped not only academically but also with strong moral values, creativity, civility, and a commitment to service.


“It is my hope that girls’ schools will continue to be the training ground for exceptional leaders,” he stated.

‎He further noted that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is immensely proud of the school’s achievements, which he believes contribute greatly to educational transformation across Ghana. According to him, the Asantehene has always assured the school of his support whenever challenges arise.


The Headmistress, Madam Emelia Ameful  Denutsui, also addressed the gathering, highlighting some long-standing challenges facing the school and appealing to authorities for assistance. She expressed gratitude to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Otumfuo Foundation for their support, particularly for the recent painting of the school.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, commended the leadership, management, and students for their hard work and commitment.,

He announced that the President and the Minister of Education are committed to providing additional infrastructure to help the school accommodate its growing student population across various disciplines.

‎Dr. Amoakohene assured the school that, as Regional Minister, he will ensure Afua Kobi 

 Ampem Girls SHS receives its fair share of development, especially in the area of infrastructure
