Otec School of Journalism Marks 6th Graduation and Matriculation Ceremony
The Otec School of Journalism and Communication Studies on Friday, 28th November 2025, held its 6th Graduation and Matriculation Ceremony under the theme “Responsible Media: A Prerequisite for National Development.”
The colourful event attracted several high-profile personalities, including the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr. Adu Kofi Domfeh, NPP Presidential aspirant Hon. Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, traditional leaders—Chiefs and Queens—as well as school management, students, and families.
This year’s ceremony served a dual purpose:
Graduating 45 students who have successfully completed their programmes, made up of 27 males and 18 females.
Matriculating 76 new students into the institution, consisting of 32 males and 44 females.
In her address, the Administrator of the school, Madam Deborah Oppong Twumasi, urged the graduates to step into society as ambassadors of responsible communication. She encouraged matriculants to embrace their academic journey with determination and humility, emphasizing that responsible media practice remains crucial to national development.
The event underscored the institution’s commitment to nurturing ethical, confident, and forward-thinking media professionals for the future.
